STRATEGIC TRIANGLE
Explore More Information: P-CoC's operational structure, inspired by Dr. Mark Moore's Strategic Triangle framework from Harvard Kennedy School, revolves around three main components: the Authorizing Body, Operational Capacity, and Beneficiaries. The Authorizing Body includes the founding president, governing officers, and board participants, who also serve as executive operational directors. This dual role fosters unity and shared responsibility through a comprehensive, hands-on approach. Operational Capacity is supported by Advisory Board and Council Committee members who act as operational directors and committee officers, overseeing daily operations. Ad hoc committees, focused on specific areas, further bolster operational effectiveness. Additionally, patrons and sponsors within the advisory board contribute resources to support programming and professional endeavors. Beneficiaries include children of color, individuals, and communities, all interconnected within Community-Based Social Circles. These circles enable direct impact through localized actions and support. P-CoC aims to empower marginalized voices, drive meaningful change, and promote equity within these diverse communities. The organization believes that effective collaboration is crucial for achieving sustainable and lasting change. Known as the Middle Across Collective Impact Structure, this organizational framework embraces a decentralized approach, fostering collaboration and consensus-building towards actionable solutions.
MANAGERIAL STRUCTURE
Explore More Information: P-CoC Inc.'s leadership is guided by people of color who, through their lived experiences, not only understand their situations but are also empowered to drive change. This approach aligns with Paulo Freire’s Praxis model, which emphasizes a cycle of Reflection and Action. Marginalized individuals lead and guide efforts based on their direct experiences and proactive actions. At the same time, non-persons of color are encouraged to join in solidarity, supporting and amplifying the initiatives led by those affected by the intersections of race, color, and ethnicity. Aligned with P-CoC's established tenets, the Middle-Across Collective Impact Model, instead of the Stakeholder Model, offers a structured and focused approach. It serves as a cornerstone of P-CoC's strategy, fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders around a singular goal without distraction from intersecting interests. This operational model ensures alignment through a shared agenda and progress metrics, resulting in authentic outcomes. In contrast, the Middle-Across Stakeholder Approach may encompass other interests, potentially diluting the collective focus and veering into constraints that could undermine the founding principles. This poses risks for diverse participants, including those from agencies restricted by legal limitations on socio-political activities.
WHO WE ARE
In the vision of P-CoC Inc. lies a world enriched with a tapestry of ethnicities, where each thread is equally valued and celebrated. At the heart of our work are pillars that guide us in advancing our mission through educational journeys, ensuring that every individual has the opportunity to flourish, unimpeded by barriers of race, color, and ethnicity.
WHAT WE DO
The work of P-CoC is to support and provide Educational-Advocacy in Schools and Communities. We strive to accomplish this task by combating racist ideologies from a place of understanding and not blame but lifting to the surface elements that reinforce racism and colorism to advocate for change.
HOW WE DO IT
P-CoC Inc partners with institutions, organizations, and individuals to work on education advocacy projects related to racial/ethnic equity. We also hold workshops, seminars, and events and advocate by calling to action the need for an active approach to solving racial inequities. Our mode of operation is collegial, collaborative, and solution-oriented, providing equitable integration of value towards racial equity. P-CoC Inc's work includes direct engagements by the governing board and operations through ad-hoc committees.
