P-CoC Inc's Operational Ethos
P-CoC Inc is committed to a focused operational ethos, dedicated exclusively to advancing the causes of race and color. While individuals within the organization may support various DEI-related efforts, our organization remains unwavering in its singular mission, ensuring unambiguity, impact, and sustained growth in alignment with our founding principles.
P-CoC Inc is an Education-Advocacy Professional Society. P-CoC Inc follows a principled approach rooted in the understanding of the Neurobiology of Behavioral Research. By leveraging this knowledge, we strive to bring about tangible changes at the local level, primarily within schools and communities. Our approach is organic, focusing on practical and actionable strategies to promote equity on racial-ethnic related issues to support persons of color.
P-CoC Inc emphasizes the belief in a singular human race, rejecting the idea of inherent racial superiority or inferiority. We promote the celebration of diverse skin color shades and ethnicities as valuable components of human identity.
The peacock symbolizes the P-CoC logo. The peacock-the bird with 100 eyes, is a possessor of valued human characteristics, exhibiting signs of sacredness, dignity, leadership, fortification, and vigilance. Not stifling the authentic representation and expressions of persons of color radiates beauty like when a peacock spreads its feathers, revealing intertwined elegance.
THEORY OF CHANGE
P-CoC Inc's theory of change is rooted in the understanding that the distinct work of race and color must remain independent and free from coercion in alignment with other interests. We recognize that Interest Convergence poses a significant deterrent to advancing race and color work, as it often leads to dilution and overshadowing.
Maintaining a singular focus on race and color is imperative to ensure it receives the full attention and dedication it deserves. When race and color work becomes an appendage to other causes, it risks being relegated to the shadows, perpetuating tokenism and creating a facade of progress. At best, it receives superficial and non-substantive actions, akin to "doggy bone treats," which fail to drive meaningful and impactful change.
Drawing on intentional ethnographic settings within our venue-specific events and programming, our theory of change centers on creating distinct spaces where the work of race and color stands on its own, undiluted and uncompromised, to gain authentic observations that will inform our impact evaluation practices driving our work.
